Longtime Washington Orthopedic Surgeon

Ian B. Lawson, MD, has an established presence in Washington and the Northwest medical community as a medical director of orthopedic utilization management in the healthcare industry.. Over the past two decades, Dr. Ian B. Lawson has maintained privileges as an orthopedic surgeon with various hospitals, including St Joseph's Hospital, Allenmore and the Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, which are located in Tacoma, Washington.

Dr. Lawson obtained certification from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and he earned his MD at the University of British Columbia. While pursuing a residency at the University of British Columbia, he made presentations before the Canadian Orthopedic Association, such as on his paper “The Elution Characteristics of Tobramycin from Silastic. A Potential Vehicle for Local Antibiotic Delivery.”
Dr. Lawson subsequently held a role as chief resident with the Department of Orthopedics at the University of British Columbia. Maintaining an active presence in his field, Ian B. Lawson, MD, served as treasurer and president of the Tacoma Orthopedic Society and was active with the Multicare Physician Advisory Council.
